Former Oklahoma Democratic Party chair Jay Parmley will be involved with the DFA Campaign Academy being held in Tulsa March 3-4.
The following email message was sent out today to DFA members in Oklahoma over Jay’s name. He left OK in 2008 to serve as Executive Director for the South Carolina Democratic Party and last year moved into the same position with the North Carolina Democratic Party.

Hope all is well in the Sooner State! I couldn’t be more pleased to learn Democrats won two important legislative seats in special elections last week. Let’s keep the momentum going!
From the Court House to the White House, we have many important elections in 2012. In order to win, or even compete, Democrats need to be well-equipped with the best electoral skills and tools.
In 2005, while serving as your state party chair, I went out on a limb and supported Howard Dean for DNC Chair. Governor Dean believed that every state in this country matters and that even in red states, Democratic candidates deserve a party organization that is working to help them win.
Democracy for America (DFA) continues that vision by providing training for candidates, activists and campaign workers in every region of the country. Over the past five years, DFA has delivered and is now the premier Democratic campaign training organization in the county.
Register for DFA’s Campaign Academy in Oklahoma on March 3rd and 4th.
If you are thinking about running for office, working or volunteering on a campaign, or are a great party activist, this training is for you! Don’t miss this chance.
I have been fortunate to be associated with Democracy for America’s Campaign Academy since 2007 and have trained all across the country with some of the country’s best field, communications and fundraising experts. This is where you learn how to run a modern, effective campaign.
Thank you for all you do,
- Jay
